Our building drain project hit a snag in the road literally. While unearthing the area for the box in the street it was discovered that the main water line that feeds the entire area was right in the way of the drainage pipe that is to be installed. So in conjunction with Grand Strand Water and Sewer we have a scheduled shutdown for Tuesday the 27th from 9am - 3 pm. The water line will be cut and re-routed to avoid the drain line path, because the drain line has to be in the position of the pipe installed North and South of the property 20 years ago. After the water is back on the work will proceed towards the building for the remainder of the project. After the project is complete we will be re-sealing the main parking lot.
Water Proofing of the eastside of the building will concentrate onto the 4 - 5 stack starting on Saturday December 1st with pressure washing that will be done in one day. The week prior will consist of rapping all railings to protect them from paint. That first week from the 1st will involve identifying areas that require grinding and treating prior to re-surfacing with concrete for final water proofing application. There will be times that balcony furniture needs to be cleared, and access to balconies will be restricted. Notices will be placed in elevators and at office for work schedules. The south deck will have periodic restricted use.
Also, we had a King Tide come through last weekend that affected our ramp. We lost at least 2 feet of sand exposing the edge with a 2 foot drop off. The ramp is closed until our contractors can repair. The sand wash out also unearthed some boulders that were buried from Mathew that will need to be put back in place.
