Public School Closings in the United States
As of Monday, March 16, the following states have closed public schools for at least two weeks: New Hampshire, Vermont, New Jersey, Arkansas, South Carolina, Wisconsin, Illinois, Oregon, Utah, New Mexico, West Virginia, Virginia, Louisiana, Alabama, Pennsylvania, Michigan, Ohio, Maryland and Washington.

President Trump Declares National Emergency
On Friday, March 13, President Donald Trump announced a state of national emergency in response to the Coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak. This emergency designation allows for the allocation of $50 billion in resources to combat the pandemic. The president also announced plans for wider testing among affected populations.

Myth Busters
Don’t believe everything you read online regarding COVID-19. The World Health Organization (WHO) is working to combat commonly held, incorrect beliefs currently being circulated among social media outlets.
