As of 5am remnants of Dorians winds are slowly leaving our area. We will begin damage assessments this morning with our restoration contractors. While they are going through each and every unit we will be walking the property from roof to grounds assessing any damage. From the cameras it appears that the removal of the storefront windows at the indoor pool area did their job helping the wind go through without stressing the glass, and possibly breaking them. Also the surge was on our side with no sea water in the pools. They will obviously need to be drained and cleaned from debris. Hopefully the water intrusion to the units will be light. We will not know the arrival conditions for the resort until at least mid to late afternoon. We have a lot to clean up around the grounds, but thankfully it does not look as bad as Mathew or Florence. We have had the elevators shut down, and we will be inspecting, and testing them today. We don't mean to be vague, but quite honestly until we get into the post storm protocols we won't know anything for sure. The Governor mandatory evacuation has not been lifted yet as well so please refer to this website for updates. We will have another no later than this afternoon, as far as when Atalaya will be ready for occupancy.
We dodged a big bullet so please give us the opportunity to get Atalaya back in running shape as you know it, so give us the time to do it.
